When someone types in something on the YouTube search, the first thing they see is the video title and thumbnail. They will see if the video title is relevant to what they were searching for. Does it give them the answer they were looking for ? etc
No matter how good your videos are a weak YouTube video titles make it difficult to get views and grow your audience.
So, the video title is the best opportunity to make a good first impression. It will entice people to click and when more people click on your video YouTube will rank your video even higher on search results.

To increase your click through rate, you need to have a video thumbnail that sparks interest. The more interesting and appealing your thumbnail is, the more clicks it will generate.
Think of the video thumbnail as a one second trailer! That’s usually the time, someone will glance at your thumbnail before they decide to click on someone else’s video. So make sure to include a mix of intrigue and information which will entice the viewer to actually click and find out what the video is about.

How to optimize your YouTube video description so that people will click your YouTube video
The first couple of lines on your description should be written so that they are easy to read in the search results. Why should someone watch your video other the others listed ? Treat the video description as a one line advertisement to get people to watch the video. In addition, you need to also include the keywords that your video is targeting. Finding the right balance between both is not always easy but pays off when you get it right.
Apply these tips to improve your video title, thumbnail and description. Then you will be able to see the CTR increase in YouTube analytics.
