SlideShare is the world’s largest community for sharing all types of presentations (not just PowerPoint’s). It gets over 50 million monthly visitors and is one of the most visited 250 websites in the world. SlideShare content spreads through blogs and social networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.
1. Turn your YouTube video into a presentation
If your video is based on a powerpoint presentation then this doesn’t take much effort. Just upload the presentation to SlideShare.
If not, create a few eye catching slides based on the YouTube video. You can also embed your YouTube video in the powerpoint presentation itself!
2. Optimize SlideShare for Search Engine Optimization!
Whether it’s within the SlideShare search engine or Google, it’s natural that you’d want to see the presentation you uploaded to SlideShare rank first or close as possible for specific keywords. So search engine optimization applies here too and here are a few ways to optimize your SlideShare presentation.
- SEO Title for SlideShare presentation The title of the presentation page is the title of your presentation. It’s also used in the H1 tag of the presentation page too. You have about 70 character you can use for the title. So make sure to squeeze in a few relevant keywords to the title.
- Meta Description for SlideShare presentation This is the presentation’s description. You can use around 3000 characters but keep in mind that only the first 160 will count. The entire description is not displayed in full.
- Meta Keywords for SlideShare presentation These are the tags you enter for the presentation you uploaded.
Links within the powerpoint doesn’t have any SEO value, but the link you add are clickable. You should consider include your YouTube video URL or link to a page which already embeds the YouTube video.
3. Add a Call to Actions to SlideShare presentation
Put a call to action at the end of the presentation leading the visitors either to your YouTube Channel or you website.
4. Get featured on SlideShare “featured” home page!
Once you have uploaded the slideshare presentation you should try to get on the home page of the SlideShare. This is achievable by having the most views in the say top 10 of presentations for that day.
So utilize your social networks and start promoting your SlideShare presentation;
